thanks. it's been nine months - he was 15 - and i still miss him like crazy. but a month after we lost him, we adopted a Katrina dog.. not technically, but i was signing up to foster one and i found Lady - a 13 yr old Beagle whose people were divorcing and giving her up. can you imagine?? she's truly like a mini-Max and it's been so healing to have her

I know what you mean--when I lost my 15-year-old springer I didn't think I could bear having a another dog that I would eventually lose but have discovered that it helps to move on pretty quickly to another pup.
