Yeah, I only feel it is such a shame. And so totally unnecessary. The solution is simple enough. All that would happen if the cursor were to jump back to the Add Word box, would be an occasional error when you enter your chatmessage into the word box. That would only bother yourself. And you would notice, because you hardly ever enter one word messages in the chatlog. Ah well, if he wants to be stubborn about it, it is his site, so he is within his rights. A shame though.

I find it easier to tie a knot for a button. You can also just hold a tail of thread on the back side and stitch over it to secure it.
