debb...when i moved to 81st and 1st ave in 1980, there were two cable cos. in ny manhattan cable and telepromter..on the upper east side, MC had the territory up to the south side of 86th street and teleprompter from the side north...MC didnt carry Sports channel which had the islander games so i used to have to go to the irish bars on the north side of 86th street to watch the games..and there was always a good mix of islander and ranger fans...of couse in the early 80s i was in 7th heaven with 4 straight stanley cups
