Hi "cat' people i have a question for you. there is an adorable sweet little part siamese cat who was born without a tail and her hind legs don't work too well, she hops instead of running. I am thinking of adopting her, do you all think there will be many vet problems in the future. She's one year old.

hpythrted--we had a female cat who was born like that. She was fine other than hopping and looking like a rabbit! We wanted her to be an indoor cat because we were afriaid she wouldn't be able to fend for herself...she insisted on going outdoors and did just fine. We had her spayed, of course but also the vet said it would probably kill her if she had a litter.

I have three kitties who were born w/o eyes- we decided to keep them and they have turned out to be great cats. They stay indoors, of course, but they can even get up on the counters by climbing the drawers like stairs....

hyp, it's also amazing how much a good home will help a sick animal out. i had a kitters who just passed away on new years day, he was 3 1/2 years old and apparently born with one kidney. the vet said he wouldn't have lasted as long as he did if he wasn't loved...i would take it home, just to give it some good deserved lovin'

Oh jumping, yes! She would get up on the dining room table during the night, knowing she was allowed up there. As soon as my mom would stir upstairs that silly cat would jump off. Of course the tablecloth all in a bunched up ball gave her away.
