Well, yeah, but it's not so bad if I just keep on him with the kleenex. How long? Not so long--he started with th efever (low grade) Thursday evening and that's been coming and going. But I have school Thursday so even though a week isn't such a long time for a flu I'll get him in tomorrow anyway to have some idea of how he'd be for daycare if he's feeling up to it.

Carrying: Yup, cannot put him down. If I start trying to do dishes or something, he appeears, bright orange cast on his leg looking truly miserable, and holds his little arms out to me and says, "Up, Mama!" Who on earth could resist that? Daycare: things are extremely well-regulated here and they all have colds at the moment, so they won't blink an eye if he just has a runny nose, but this coming-and-going thing might mean more than a flu (ear infections aren't contagious, though) so I'll have him to the doctor if he's not a lot better today and tomorrow. He sure is sleeping in.

Yeah, poor little guy, he does need me right now and I'm glad I can be here. I really hope for BOTH our sakes he's better right away though--I can't afford to miss any more school! Oh, he drinks regular milk, and hasn't used a bottle since he was 6 weeks old (he had to be taken to the hospital shortly after he was born, so bottles were temperarily required). But what he really wants when he gets up is juice; I mix it very weak. We'll see what he wants--if he'll eat some orange pancakes I'll know he's OK. They're orange because I sneak baby food in--carrot in these, but this time also broccolli and turkey blend. He doesn't have fluid available all night because he unscrews the caps on his no-spill cups, rather defeating the purpose, but I do take stuff in throughout the night if he's unwell. Hmmm, he's still coughing... I think I'll just call and make a dr. appointment for today and tehn go check him.

On non-school-no-apprenticeship-job days I get up, take the dog out, prepare a toddler breakfast, have coffee if toddler still sleeping, get the toddler when he wakes up, have coffee if have not yet, feed him, take him and teh dog to the park, come back here, feed him a healthy snack by that time, load the crappy broken dishwasher (glass and ceramics only, everything else comes out evenly coated with soap), check my e-mail, get surfaces wiped, toddler off to nap time, breakfast for me, stuff like this grid or ideally homework, get toddler back up when he wakes up, do something constructive and fun with him, dog to park again (it's across the street), packing, homework, shopping if not already done, start work on dinner, husband gets home, dinner, storytime, bedtime for toddlers, THEN if I can muster the energy, more cleaning.
