when one or more of us see a troll, we say UTB (code for under the troll bridge). we ALL totally ignored them, not even ONE word of interactive communication. they just went away after saying things like: isn't anybody there? multiple times w and w/o obscenities and such. not a one of us ever acknowledged them and they left.

i have a large "lesion" on my lower spine from it that has made a mess of my back. disintegrated a fusion, spine collapsed and not operable. too risky. very painful.

from an auto accident in 85 i had 7 in six years (all ortho). then a Lyme tick got me in 94 and again in 95 and at the time the ins. wouldn't give you enuf time on IV to kill the bugger, so it lives in me and attacked my joints

i hear ya chic... the disease pain is bad enuf, but my cervical fusion failed also and i've been everywhere and told it can't be fixed, so the pain in my arms is incredible and i refused to druge myself into oblivion. i take drugs, yes, but without them i can't even feed myself. at least i have a life now, albeit not the one i had a few years ago. i wasa climbing trees and riding dirtbikes and quads and running and jumping. i got hit fast and hard

i've been taking Plaquenil for RA twice a day for about 18 months, but it's not working very well anymore. it helped the stiffness and a little for pain. I would resort to pain meds (Percocet) after no sleep for 2 nights.. on the 3rd nite, i'd take it so i could get some sleep. but my days were spent in agony on my couch. so i went for pain management and take the extended release, w/Ps for breakthru pain. I took NSAIDs for so long i shredded the lining of my stomach and can't take thema nymore. but my issues are not just RA, but spinal collapse from disintegrated fusions in my neck and back

you sound like a friend of mine.... has already had 7 or 8 surgeries... now they say same to her... "surgeries were successful, but your spine is a mess".... It is an anticancer drug; a friend of ours mentioned it to me... I take 5 tabs once a week, along with prevacid and pepcid to protect stomach... is not supposed to cause stomach issues like nsaids. Sometimes it causes a bit of nauseau, but so far ginger or emetrol has handled it...

RA is really the lesser of my problem. i've been in a cervical collar for 2.5 years and a back brace for 2 years, but w/the RA lesion and massive scar tissue, the metal is shifting and they can't fix it.

no... there is so much scar tissue and the lesion intertwined in my spinal cord, i was told i would definitely lose the use of my legs. My hips and ankles (also braced) and knees kill me, but I can still walk, er waddle like a duck is more like it lol

I have been disabled due to Polio when I was 11 weeks old [am now 52] and over the past 5 yrs have become completely wheelchair bound........and sometimes feel very hard done by.......then somebody like ADHD comes along and puts everything into perspective for me........I could never bear to suffer the pain that she and many others like her do.....and so young too.......and yes she's right.......if you have the right attitude....then life becomes a little more bearable!

I am in Indiana, close to Lake Michigan, so we have what is called "lake effect"; also our county has over 100 lakes. My doc says all of his RA patients are affected by weather, and there was a study at Cleveland Clinic a few years ago that supposedly documents RA (as well as OA)... my friend with OA is affected more when pressure goes down though

We've just had a no smoking in enclosed places ban come into force. It's going to throw up some interesting cases - the nurses at a local psychiatric hospital are not permitted to smoke in the wards or even in the grounds of the hospital.
