in short, smithchick: she had a longstanding infection in her arm, the bone was grafted recently and the poor thing managed to fracture and dislocate it afterwards. The fracture has been splinted now and things are a little better.

I'm feeling much relieved -- I had a CT scan Tuesday and while I do have a couple nodules in my lungs, they are very tiny, and one looks harmless. They'll rescan in 3 more months. I am happy it's nothing I have to deal with now, and hopefully not later too :)

I am too. In the past 2 months I've had 3 x-rays, CT, mammo, colonoscopy, numerous blood tests, sent to an Endo guy, will have a scope down my throat next month, and am beginning to feel like an episode of that tv drama House. On the other hand, I'm sure sooner or later the docs will come up with answers. Despite my sour tone, I am very grateful, and praying for good health for all of us, especially MrP!

On Monday we did a 10 mile kayaking trip down the Schroon River into Schroon Lake. We hiked to the summit of Mt Severance at 1800 ft--beautiful view. Then I also kayaked across the lake. Also: good food and lots of laughing!

yes and i work full tiime. what is a sheer joy is that 5 of the kids are financially independent, and doing very nicely. they all manage money well, manage life well, the 4 married have good marriages and the grandkids seem to be doing well too. that is how i measure my own success as mom.. it was such fun to be mom to them all. we had a ball baking and cooking and dancing and singing etc. and fab family trips.
