Andree, I cannot walk very good and my equilibrium is off, so I have to have a small dog, that cannot make me fall. I'd love to have it from pup on, so I can train it myself, but before it is trained, a big dog could really harm me.

We have only ever had smaller dogs..but we are contemplating a retired greyhound (a big push to adopt these here so they aren't destroyed when they have finished their racing careers). They seem extremely lazy and are virtual couch potatoes - even getting some of them to run in the park can be a challenge apparently.
