There's always a bit of a debate in the log about rescue/mongrel dogs versus pedigree. I'm happy that it's perfectly okay, if you want a particular breed, to get it from a responsible breeder. I wouldn't touch a puppy farm. But to say that all mongrel/rescue dogs are necessarily better or more worthy is not true, in my opinion.

Mr Pres my dad has osteomyelitis in his leg but 'its not a big deal 'slaps my self in the head. I told him it was a big deal, we have always lived with the thought in our minds that he would loose the leg as he was hit by a truck when he was 2 and its always been an issue

After hearing about you Mr Pres i was like 'gar its a BIG deal' Hes already been dead 2 or three times over in hospitals so its something we go 'sigh' His doctor is a lovely man that checks the leg regulary. Your arm got the short end of the stick with you and I always think about how lucky you are that they 'fixed it' and that you have a lovely man and kids.

As he is old (65 this year) the leg has little covering on it so the skin is prone to infection. Thanks for you kind thoughts. Its funny in this day and age that parents like mine go 'I have blar wrong' not to worry you but the internet has heaps of information. Dad has always lived on borrowed time. He got hit by a truck at age 2 causing the leg problem.
