I remember the bullcrap my aunt went through to get her money for my uncles care in the last few months of his life. The superannuation company requested costs for his palative care. Mr uncle even sold his very expensive car to make sure she would have a reliable car. He was a mechanic and loved cars. It was one of his pride and joys.

Excuse me if I'm sticking my nose in Mr. P, but I'd at least talk to a lawyer, there are many insurance companies that won't pay out large claims unless there is a lawyer in the picture. I know lawyers can be expencive but it's probally worth the fee for a couple of hours of a lawyer's time just to find out if you do have a claim, or if the insurance company is telling the truth.
