Moon there are quite a few good american series like that. Bones, Cold Case and Without Trace are similar in that there are only a few episodes ever which are follow ons from previous. Other than that you can dip in and out.

Its' going to be a hard decision when Merp leaves us (which will never happen of course because he's going to be the first immortal cat), because on the one hand I can't imagine living without a cat in the house and on the other we have wanted to travel for some time and it is so hard to do that with a cat. Some are easier than others. Merp has had several life threatening attacks with urinary stones (none for 3 years now) , and they tend to happen when he is stressed...which he gets when we leave him, and I can't count on a casual cat sitter to recognize the signs.

I don't think you'd need to drug her. I'd keep her contained in a quiet room in the old house, and move her last...to a quiet room in the new house for a few hours.

It really depends on the cat mrp....some most need calm and quiet and some need your presence. Also, the MOST important thing is that cats shouldn't be allowed out (if you live someplace where cats go out) for at least 2 weeks after a move. And then only briefly with your guidance, until you are sure they now how to get back to the house. A lot of cats are permanently lost during moves. So if there's going to be a lot of chaos with doors being left open then it might be better to leave her somewhere safe until things calm down.
