Got no family history of breast or ovarian cancer... that would make the decision easy for me... but I have an intellectual aversion to the removal of healthy tissue

My great fears, health-wise, are ovarian cancer, breast cancer and cardiac disease. I was so relieved to have the ovaries gone! Ovarian cancer is typically diagnosed at a late stage as symptoms are vague.

Well, I had my tonsils and adenoids removed as a kid, asked the doc to remove my appendix while he was in there digging out my uterus, lost my gall bladder along the way, and then my ovaries too. I don't miss any of those parts.

Real Canadians are as divided as everyone else, IMO. The problem is, baby seals are cute, so, that somehow makes it even more wronger. :) We live in an overly aware PC time, and it's just not popular, 'specially with the anti fur movement. If baby seals were ugly, it'd be a lot less contentious.

we do, most of my Dad's family is down there. We were actually just there last month too. My grandmother has a brain tumor so we are going down to spend a bit more time with her while she is still doing well. My brother is even flying in from Denmark and I haven't seen him in over 6 months so as sad as this all is, I am also really excited.
