MrP, in my experience with my friends who were "restricted" on knowedge/chances to understand drinking, sex, etc...they go crazy as soon as they get a chance. I think accepting that things are different now is part of what can help, but it's very very difficult to get a 14 yr old to listen to a parental figure. I've had some good luck talking to kids in the ER because i tell them I dont have any kids, and I look pretty young...but its hard, they do have this idea that they know it all, and that they are invincible.
