You are lucky! We explored the Halifax are for a possible move, before coming to Vermont. The coast is so, so beautiful there. Elder-they are similar to horse flies, but shaped like the nose cones of rockets, and extremely aggressive. Will follow you for miles. The only benefit is that they aim almost entirely for the head- so if one wears a hat they keep bonking into it.
