sorry, another republican here, but in the "small government" sense. I am pro-choice, pro gay marriage (or at the very least partners' rights), not religious. But I was raised in a family that believes in working for what you have, not giving it all to the government and letting them decide for you. I don't much like McCain, but I also don't want a democrat in office to discourage, through higher taxation, people from earning more. I personally am not wealthy, nor have I ever used welfare, not even FEMA now while I'm in a devastated area. I believe in personal responsibility, and I think a republican government is more geared towards that. Am I off base?
