Nah, no clean your plate. He just wouldn't stop throwing tantrums last night and saying he did not like things he DOES. So I wrote a chart last night with pics of clocks on it. So he ate his lunch with no questions asked, then had a snack at 3, just water and no juice boxes after that, and lo and behold, at dinner time he appeared at the table early and ate two bowls of rice and a bowl of corn. The new rule is he does not have to eat it but he can't complain about it or shove it away, and he has to be polite at the table for a few minutes befor he gets down. A lot of it was my fault with somewhat free snacking and browsing, you see, and no strict rules about it.
