Melbourne Cup had a fashions on the field racing semi and she won that *(new car and all that) and then took out the fashion on the field final and won walked away with $100,000 of booty including a $66,500 Saab convertible, Paspaley jewellery worth $10,000, a $5000 Myer shopping voucher and a $4000 Longines watch after winning the national Fashions on the Field competition on Oaks Day at Flemington.

I have no objection to gay unions. I understand that somewhere along the line, the psyches of these people have developed with these proclivities and that to them it feels natural. I feel that there should be some mechanism in law that allows people involved in these unions to enjoy the same laws and privileges in matters of taxation, retirement benefets, health benefits, etc. as heterosexual couples. What I do object to is calling such a bonding marriage, implying blessing by the church (call me archaic). So why not have the law recognize "gay union" in the same manner as marriage -- after all we have "gay pride" - why not "gay union" as well?
