we just came across him/her tucked up on the beach not moving, looking round but not moving around, even when Hobbit went right up to it. So I wrapped it up in my scarf - it was really cold - and walked allll the way back along the beach with it and drove it to the vets. They *think* it is just shocked for some reason that they can't tell, and hope they'll be able to let it go back on the beach tomorrow, but they are keeping it overnight and x-raying it etc
