ah well, all is relative, right? Yesterday we heard another good friend of ours has relapsed into cancer. Started with a melanoma, was declared clean a year ago, now a new spot in the knee. Secondary, so actually a death sentence. Makes our smaller problems look a lot smaller.

it works very differently here. I have a little apparatus like a calculator. I need to insert my card, then enter my pin, then enter a code. Then the apparatus spits out another code and that is the one I need for accessing my bank account online. I need to repeat this before I can send my list of payments.

To use it, one must insert the bank card, enter pin code, then enter a code that is randomly given on the online screen. The response to that code must be entered on the screen then, and only then you get access, or can do your payment.

he's still sneezing and slurping, but seems to have more energy and more of an appetite so I'm relieved. I've been following him around with his food for days, because it's so dangerous is they stop eating. With a cold, not being able to smell, they aren't very interested, so I spoiled him with an old kind of food which he loves. The battle will be to get him back on his healthier stuff once he's all better.

he is normally on Vermont raw-which is nothing but ground chicken with the bones, etc. He's been much better since switching to that. He has had 3 life threatening attacks over the span of the 14 years. This actually doesn't seem to have been one. The vet here is very opposed to dry food because it concentrates the urine, which is not good for crystals. He used to be on a wet urinary food, but kept having attacks until we switched him to the raw. I'm so sorry to hear about your cat sue!

no puppy here, but what they don't eat the deer and squirrels get. The barred owl has been hanging out again watching the feeder, but the chickadees could care less, and they never seem to get eater. umm. let's see. she is in fourth grade, and still can't tie her shoes. she can't spell, and even when we go over and over the rules of phonics and how words are constructed, that doesn't help. she can't follow number operations when doing math, and she has a really hard time with making connections between concepts. for example, with weeks of concentrated drilling she might learn to add, but then when we move on to multiplying, she forgets what she learned about adding within weeks. rote memorization takes ages, and she can't tell her left from her right. and some other stuff too, but that is the basic profile

she doesn't really have one, trag, and that is one of my frustrations with the limits of public school. they can identify where she needs help, but not why. I begged them to retain her for one year, as she is also younger than almost everyone else, but her problems didn't really make themselves clear until the end of first grade, and they won't retain past first grade. I am sure in the end she will do well, but I really think being retained would have helped a lot

My son has Down Syndrome and when he was 4 years old..I fought to get him into an early childhood education program...he takes a city bus to work and he works in a workshop...the help is out there. You have to demand the help your child needs

Hopefully, medical problems have been eliminated as the cause. A great niece of mine was small for her age (9), had numerous learning disabilities and was thought to be moderately autistic. At some point, her pediatrician ordered an MRI and brain scan. Found out she had an under-developed pituitary gland. She is now on hormone supplements and makinig leaps and bounds in learning and growth.
