You would definetely need a fenced yard, they are bolters and not good at all on recall (coming to heel etc). And they do NOT like being tied up (I know from experience!) even for a few minutes. They are fragile in that they have thin skin and no flesh to protect them, I have read of some horrific injuries from the simplist accidents. But I still love them for all their shortcomings.

Oh I had him tied up to not-sturdy-enough railings outside a shop (for about 3 minutes & within sight). He took fright at something and took off dragging the fencing with him...very luckily no damage to him and only a little damage to the car the fencing got caught under. A few days ago, he was tied up - much more securely - and decided to freak out over some stationary bicycles parked very close to him. Lol...and then got really concerned about some small sandbags on the footpath. Not exactly fearless dogs!
