The best defense against bullying, in my experience, is to ignore it, which takes serious self esteem. If I were you I would encourage your daughter to be nice to this girl and to try to stand up for her when it's appropriate

do you know any of the bully girls or their parents, their folks might like to know what they've been up to. also there was the case of the woman in the states who created an account to bully a kid who committed suicide and was charged and convicted. that case has been appealed. the idea that such behaviour might land them and their kids in court might help to get recalcitrant parents off the couch.
