My friends cat has been trying to teach their kid from the time she was born - she is 6 months now to kill critters like a good cat. First it was moths and as she got older recently it was a half dead starling bird.

Mr.P. Shelties are not a favourite of mine, being cut down Shetland Collie dogs, but my own dog was a Sheltie x Jack Russell and the best dog you could ever wish to meet.

Herin, I do wish you hadn't mentioned that half-dead starling. It reminded me of the time when our cat brought a half-dead blackbird into the kitchen. Its head was half severed but it was still alive. My stepdaughter, who found it, was about 8 at the time. She was sure it would survive as Daddy took it away to 'look after'. It upset Beloved that he had to 'end the suffering'. BLOODY CAT!

I saw the weirdest but loveliest dog that one of my friends rescued. It was a hairless dachsund. It seemed that the dog was a cross with a Chinese Crested. It looked like a shaved Dachsund

I remember our old cat teaching the new cat (now our oldish cat) how to catch moths. He'd been jumping and slashing in mid air with no result. She waited for the moth to alight on the wall, stuck a casual paw out and then popped the moth into her mouth. 'That's how it's done!' she seemed to say. New cat looked slightly embarrassed.

Friday he got a roast beef full trimmings. Weekend we were feed by his parents. Monday I did a 4 hour slow roasted lamb shoulder (not boned) full trimmings and a pasta bake last night. Tonight I am thinking potato and leek soup.
