yes, we have a frontloader as well. I kind of miss my top loader though. It was a combination, a washing machine and a seperate ... centrifuge? Swirler? Don't know the english word. It took a bit more work but the wash came out drier and the mechanism was much stronger.

yes, it is - when my husband was in hospital (before my kids were old enough to drive) I never once had to ask for a lift in the 6 weeks he was there, I don't drive and the hospital is an hours bus ride away.

The only draw back really is that my husband doesn't really want any friends just his brothers - he sees at least one of them every day and speaks on the phone to the others and as they are all over 70 now I dread to think what will happen when one dies.
