that upper right corner is useless
what about adding a clock feature and keeping track of time spent on the site and words per minute?
i think the ranking system should be modified. at present if you want a high ranking you need to play only the high scoring boards, whereas if you play every day you'll never get in the top ten.
the upper scoring limit for each board should be taken into account.
for example, this board isn't going to be a big pointer and that'll put off people playing it. i'm not playing cos my ranking will go down. boring i know, but thats the way it is...
i've noticed that too (i mean about high scoring boards and ranking points). i'm not sure if the clock idea is practical but it would be cool.
keep the ideas coming.
I'd say doing well on a puzzle like this one should be highly rewarded. Mr. Trickle?
hi pjhenley and MissPiggy
i think a time limit would be great 2 to 4 hours?
Not in favor of the clock feature (unless it's FYI only). I fit this in when time permits (sometimes on breaks at work!)--don't necessarily do it all in one shot...
This puzzle is sucky . . .
I'm with Yecats, I do it as time permits. I didn't finish on Saturday (never got to T) but I guess I don't really look at the ranking averages, just yesterday's top people to see what I missed. :)
I'm with Kimchi et. al -- I look at it when I am compiling a program or something, take small breaks.... if I don't get time, it would suck to have a limit......
I'm stuck at 43 words. Stupid x.
how many points does everyone have?
No doubt, pj, no doubt.
I was thinking of the clock as culmulative of the time spent on the site throughout the day. That way, if you only have 20-30 mins to spend as opposed to 3-4 hrs to spend, it could be taken into effect. You could even have a pause button if you like to keep Babble running in the background but, of course, you couldn't enter any words at that point.
hi C-Rock & Bean
just got a 33 point word.. yay
If anyone has played Joggle (not nearly as good as this), their online pause hides the tiles...just a thought.
43 for 497...but nothing starting with S. That can't be right.
has anyone used that x yet?
thisis my first time here... i have 21 and 236... not so good.. grrr
no x. nothing beginning with s. this puzzle blowzzz
i got a wrd that started with s
me too...ok, ONE word starting with s. .. :(
Me too but I didn't get it until cattiva said there was one. Isn't that funny how that happens?
I have some that start with s that I found by randomly guessing. It feels cheap.
Guessed my way to an S word...I'm done!
Nothing with the X, but I have two 33s and a 36. Anybody hit a 40 pointer?
Cheap or not, I'd take it...can't get past 43 words.
Ha! Just as I was giving up, another "s" word. Then there were two...
20 and 30 nothing higher and nothing with an S. oh well
If everyone pitches in, I think we can have more comments than there are words.
Superbowl predictions anyone? Mr. Trickle?
Despite a 31-0 advantage, Belichick tells punter Ken Walter to take an intentional safety rather than attempt a punt. The gambit pays off as the Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi intercepts a pass and returns the ball for the game's final touchdown. When asked why he felt the need to embarass Carolina even further, Bruschi replies, "I didn't do it on purpose. I'm just so accustomed to returning interceptions for touchdowns. I didn't know what else to do."
has anyone broken 600?
I'm predicting that due to scheduling confusion, the rodeo shows up just before kickoff. The bulls get loose and gore both teams' quarterbacks. Final: Panthers 4, Patriots 2. Sorry dick, I was going for the Colts.
well, that one worked out well, didn't it, dick?
I'm over 600. Keep missing obvious ones, have lots of bogus ones.
Yes, I was rather disappointed. Such is life. At least Carolina won, otherwise I was going to boycot.
How about that pennant race?
last time i checked, the Sox were in first place
Wouldn't it be great if they actually made it to the World Series someday? Of course, then they'd lose. No, maybe it's better this way.
Just to change the subject, Barbara Walters is retiring.
Eminem's mom got carjacked? The Onion should pick up some of these stories.
still haven't beaten my word count quite yet
Well say somethin' then. For instance, what's cooler than being cool?
pj is over 600, huh? So am I, I wonder how many others are. . . I can't take the boggle pressure and must stay up until the end to see who won!! I was also going for the Colts and am now cheering for the Panthers.
Sorry, couldn't resist.
alright, alright, alright, alright, okay now, ladies!
We gonna break this thing down.
Don't have me break this thing down for nothing. I wanna see y'all on y'all's baddest behavior.
Lend me some sugar, I am your neighbor.
I can wait for tomorrow. I'm going to bed.
