On the news tonight there was an elderly lady who had lived in her little house for sixty years and the furnace had gone out. Her landlord had not had it fixed and she was refusing to leave. Some of the children who had lived around her when they were growing up saw the news and now that they are grown have come together and brought her heaters and food, etc. One of the young men said that she had given them cookies after school and was responsible for many of them growing up in the right direction. It was wonderful to see people helping her.

A month ago we had work done here and the repairer went away leaving a load of rubble in the soil pipe: result, "very-recently-fouled water" (!) came up in shower base. Repairer showed no remorse at having failed to complete job.
