yeah, liz. don and i are discussing a new car for me. i really like toyota. have my second one, but it is a manual. i want bottom of the range corolla, had one before and loved it. don says i am to have a few luxuries. i just come to grips with spending unnecessary money on a car. i don't live in it, for goodness sake!

The Jazz is manual - our 3rd Jazz. My first was in England. Honda offering 1.5% interest at the moment! Too good not to do especially as our old car was out of warranty and someone had driven into the back of it!

Can I, as a waterlogged Brit have my little moan about the weather? The British Isles are in danger of sinking under the Atlantic ocean and the North sea, there is so much flood water. A little snow would be a light relief. Our beloved leader came to the little town next to ours today, dashed to Somerset where they have been suffering floods since before Christmas to give him time to get to the Thames Valley where the Thames has flooded in the last two days but where 'middle english' voters live. What a surprise!

I thought we did here in Devon but this is amazing! Springs are appearing where they have never been seen in living memory. At Dawlish the main, and only, railway line was dangling like a wooden jungle bridge and there are no trains getting through to Devon or Cornwall. It is the direction of the winds that have caused the problems. It was the South Coast of England that took the brunt of the storms but it is the sheer volume of rainwater that is compounding that damage now. No chance for workmen to do any repairs.

i live in front of a school jax, and when we had bad snow a few years ago and we couldn't move out of our houses and th eroads weren't cleared by the council and no-one could get to the school, as in techers especially they now grit the road more often but haven't done it now knowing we were in for snow!!

I am 68 and I can remember living in Lancashire with no central heating so you got ice inside the windows yet life kept going. No snow days, and teachers lived nearer their places of employment then as well.

The cancer is gone, as far as anyone can tell - no sign of it on scans. He'll have to keep being checked, though, as it could still pop up again.

pen, I once had a really sweet patient who loved to knit and made and sold her handiwork. I needed a scarf and mittens; so I asked her to make a LONG scarf and 2 pairs of matching mittens. She took me literally: I ended up with a 14 foot scarf with 2 pr. matching mittens! :-)
