wrote my exam yesterday. Was funny; I went into the exam with a 95%. This may sound nice in the fact that the lowest i can possibly have overall is 80% if i just sign my name on the exam sheet and walk out, but the problem lies in that if i want to impove that walking in mark at all, the exam i did yesterday have to be 95% or better to change anything:)

My son brought my grandsons over today and we went to a "splash" park and lunch. We came back to my place and when it was time to leave, the 3-year-old said "I don't want to leave grandma's house." Life is good.

I always think it's going to take them some time to warm up to me (I haven't seen them since Christmas) but it never does. They know a grandma when they're with one! I gave the 3-year-old (who loves rocks) one of the rocks from my collection to take home and told him "This is grandma's rock that will live at Elliott's house" and he just loved it.

I don't get to see them as often as I'd like since it's a 1-hr. drive each way and I have no car, but am happy that they seem to really warm to me easily. I'm very comfortable with kids and don't force my attention on them. Really important for both kids and animals...never rush up on them.

We came back to my place and actually played a computer game (I had to work the mouse) called King Oddball and they were fascinated and the little one (1.5 years) belly laughed through it every time it went BOOM!! So much fun.

me, if i'm at work and a kid gets antsy, i just take some stickers out and put them on the desk. eyes are like lasers pointed at the stickers, they start looking around and *presto* a deal is made - yep, bribery - and it works :)

Being a good mother was always the most important thing in my life. I wasn't "perfect" but my background in developmental psychology really helped. I never had any real problems with my kids...ever. And they brought their friends home to talk to me since many of them didn't have close relationships with their parents.

I can't wait until they get a bit older and I can take them to the zoo....with my background in zoos and wildlife parks, I'm a riot to go to zoos with since I "speak the language" of many of the animals and can really get them to respond.

What so many parents don't seem to realize is that children WANT us to be in control. They know they're not equipped to be in control so knowing we are is comforting to them and give them stability. Thanks, Scrab. All through school teachers told me they were so happy to have another one of my children in their classes.
