I've only been to Tintagel once and sadly couldn't do the steps walk as I had a very young dog at the time and he couldn't quite manage it in the heat, bless him. Did you notice that St Ives was incredibly expensive? It's the only part of Cornwall that disappoints me - purely because of it's prices but then they know they can get away with it because of us tourists!

We were staying right up at the top of St Ives out of the town itself - didn't eat there much but found some great places out of town. All of England was more expensive than when we were there 3 years ago.

You must go back to Tintagel and do the steps to the top. It was fun and even more fun watching some French school group being dive bombed by seagulls!

Yes - that's thanks to our "lovely" Tory government trying to scare people into thinking we all need to still cut back - so nobody's really spending much and all our prices are going up. Lol - I guess I could say something there about the French being used to being divebombed but it would be a little in poor taste lol. My summer's been one of mixed fortunes but I am on the right track again now. Lot's of personal problems which I won't go into but things are starting to become clear in my head and hopefully am coming through the dark times

I do have one small problem. Where I've just moved there is a problem with fleas and I have never been bitten by one before but these little sods have taken a right fancy to my back and now I look like a bloody dot to do picture and I'm itching like a madman. I've started taking anti-histamine tablets (yesterday) but still itching. Hopefully they'll kick in soon

ugh....fleas!! can you 'bomb' the place with an insect bomb? it's like a can of fly spray, but you set it up in the room, start it, and vacate the room for 2-3 hours.

for the bites themselves, use personal insect repellant, spray on if you can. there is something in it which neutralises the protein which is making you itchy.

We looked into that with the flea problem we had with our dog and couldn't find flea bombs over here, but I'm trying white vinegar with water - I know where the buggers are living, so it shouldn't be too difficult to control them. As for itching, omg don't get me started! I've even got big lumps and itches inside me bottom cheeks! Sorry for being so personal lol.

Rose, I have been thinking of moving out of state near a place that helps the mentaly ill(they have groups and jobs and so on) and renting out this place. My sister could have a more active life with people like her and I would like to see her have some happyness in her life

oh, it is an old injury rose. Ten years ago, give or take, I herniated three disks in my neck. Now, ten years later, they are becoming quite bothersome with pinched nerves and numbness in the hands etc and one of them is now full of arthritis. I must do special exercises with counterweights and a strap around my head to ease this. I also have an appt in October now with a speciallist to see if things have progressed far enough now that an operation is need.

generally, it is a given that you do not let them open you up and tinker around with your dosks unless things have progressed far enough that you are almost crawling on all fours, but getting a full MRI and a pro to tell me how far things have progressed is a good thing

I had a friend with this exact issue. The nerves were being pinched so badly that his arms were numb 24/7 and one of his feet had started to turn inwards and stay that way, so he was a candidate for the operation. Byt, as you know, nerves are tricky things and he came out of the operation pain free, but needing two canes for the rest of his life

The Robin now looks like a Robin. He makes a noise like an adult Robin and he has a death wish!. Last Wednesday I was left as robinsitter while the men went fishing. It was all fine until lunchtime when I couldn't find said robin. He was only in the cage of the Kakariki who is rather unfriendly. How to get him out without letting the parakeet out. He will not go back in easily and we let him out rarely. I put my hand around the little bird and drew him quietly through the partly open cage door.

seems to be - showed up on a CT scan and then on a PET scan. Unfortunately no positive biopsies - the GI doc couldn't reach the hot spot since there was a blockage, and the surgeon was having enough trouble just doing the colostomy (there were lots of adhesions; she said everything she looked at looked like it was going to either bleed or perforate, so she just did the colostomy. We'll see what the oncologist says on Tuesday.
