i don't know sprite. don doesn't get it usually, but he is learning. when i ask what pain meds he has taken for his migraine, he feeds back to me...what did you tell me to take? so he know understands that when you are in pain, logical thought processes fly out of the window. so he is a lot more understanding when i am in tears because it's so sore.

But you have to look at the whole globe, and remember that weather is not climate - the long-term changes are, so far, fairly subtle. But they won't stay that way. I spent the most glorious afternoon with my Dad today. An old buddy of his - also aged 87 - came to visit him in the Nursing Home today, armed with a bottle of Jameson whiskey. The 2 boyos wandered down memory lane, fuelled with the whiskey. It all ended up in a sing-song, with several of the other residents contributing. It truly was a special day.

I can't imagine being without my parents, now 84 and 82 but I can imagine all the things that will change. I will not look at my music in the same way either as my mom is the musician in the family and it's because of her that I have the musical gifts that I share with others. My dad has always be one to stay in the background, never a hugger and never one to say I love You but I have always known he did both in his own way. My mom suffered a brain injury a couple of years ago and things are so different with both of them; in a sense I'm already losing them slowly and it's a little easier but I still dont want want to imagine them not on the other end of the phone when I call. Hugs to you Diane!

I have a feeling I'll have a few more years as my grandmother lived until 1 month before her 100th birthday and my great grandmother was 94. My father has already lived past his expectations as his father passed away at 64. They are all a blessing all the time :-)
