2:58 am
beluga

3:14 am
4t8

why doesn't this allow cetyl [alcohol]?
3:21 am
beluga

you can get to 500 without it, at least. :) goin back to sleep & perchance dream of colewort.
3:23 am
4t8

hm. that would be nice. am on 470.
6:36 am
allstar

6:37 am
allstar

8:11 am
beluga

8:53 am
Christine

HELOTRIES -- bloody hell, I had HELOT, juat disn't look far enough. Thanks 4t8, for the info - I'll be reade next time.
8:58 am
Christine

Heck, it's too early in California -- my computer can't spell (just what you need when playing Babble.)
9:09 am
dustyfleas

To the "Cetyl" person, I agree with you about "Cetyl" because it took Maya.
9:10 am
dustyfleas

Ok, now what's with the puzzle, it wouldn't take "mutt".
9:11 am
dustyfleas

I'm crosseyed, need to drink some more coffee so I can see.
9:23 am
dustyfleas

No etal but it took a spanish word
9:25 am
dustyfleas

My kingdom for an "r" and a "s".
9:27 am
dustyfleas

It took meta but not alta.
9:28 am
dustyfleas

Perturbed, taking a break.
9:40 am
cwk4328

thanks for the tip on the spanish word. I had skipped putting it in about 5 times! Struggling at 453! Actually, struggling the whole way.
9:49 am
Huh

Hows goes it today Guys ?? :) SHhhhh Yess I'm peaking in AND determined NOT to put that first word in as I have a big PR Job in the morning, and dont want to spend my whole dear here lol

Thats the trouble Once I start Cant keep away *shrugs* hmmmm looks rather awkward this one!
9:50 am
shutterbug

"mutt" isn't in the puzzle
9:51 am
Huh

Ooosy sorry ment to say Day! not Dear *rollseyes* thats how I get most of my words with typos lol
10:14 am
beluga

note to dustyfleas: it takes maya, the buddhist term for illusion, rather than Maya, the pre-columbian civilization.
10:46 am
lawyer-1

Nil, how was the nap?
10:57 am
beluga

the nap invigorated me to the extent that i now tally 637.
10:59 am
lawyer-1

Tally-ho!
63 words 4.62 821
11:02 am
beluga

11:06 am
lawyer-1

I have 1-7 and 1-8.
11:09 am
beluga

may i remind you of what the Good Book says, in the abundance of words wanteth not sin.
11:14 am
lawyer-1

And wasn't it Teddy Roosevelt who said,"Speak softly but use 7 and 8 letter words"?
11:32 am
Dustin

either everyone in here is really smart, or i'm a total idiot, cause i only got 156
11:46 am
4t8

back for more. stopped earlier at 582.
12:18 pm
discodave

Damn. I wish I'd spelt pittance right in my head before thinking I'd found it in the puzzle...
12:24 pm
4t8

those would've been great points!
why, i wonder, is platten not allowed...
(Glass Making) To flatten and make into sheets or plates; as, to platten cylinder glass. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?r=2&q=platten
12:35 pm
lawyer-1

4t8 - to make up for that, it will give you credit for words that are not found in the dictionary. I've been told that this is referred to as Babble welfare.
12:36 pm
4t8

i see. thanks, lawyer-1.
12:41 pm
lawyer-1

There are at least four words in today's puzzle that are not in Babble's dictionary, yet they are accepted in the puzzle. Two of them are 6-letter words. That is why entering random letters sometimes works.
1:56 pm
TOM

CHRISTINE, I'M STRUGGLING TODAY!!!!
4:58 pm
Mal

TOM YOU JUST DO NOT HAVE IT IN YOU
6:00 pm
liz

7:01 pm
dustyfleas

Babble dictionary?
7:52 pm
M&O

"Babble dictionary?"
The one that pops up when you click on the "?" next to a word.
8:08 pm
shortseer

I've hunted and hunted.
I've invented words aplenty.
I've tried "creative" spellings.
I've prefixed and suffixed all over the place ... and yet the 7 & 8 letter words still elude me.
8:56 pm
shutterbug

dustin, I am an idiot too
9:58 pm
beluga

most disappointing that Pythian isn't allowed--it's a proper noun. :(
10:34 pm
beluga

made 800 but still no 7+ words
11:19 pm
shortseer

I feel no disgrace is gleefully stating that i've found a 7-letter word ;)
