ARGH! Too many people here now. I gave myself an hour to enter the words I'd figured out. It was sooo slow that I soon prioritized the higher count words. Even so ther were 20+ words that I didn't get to plug in before the puzzle closed.

I guess that I should only play from my work computer with its T1 line from now on. Too slow!

I noticed for the first week or two i started that i wasn't listing. but went away, didn't play any games for a few days, came back and there i was. guess there's a delay to tally them, but there shouldn't be...maybe try logging out and back in a few times, or leaving some space between logging out and in.

Any hints on word types/patterns for finding the 8s? I'm in a rut and need a new thought pattern!

Well after all the hours I've spent on this puzzle I've got 199 words, and I can still bet that there's quite a few left... I think this is the best I've done so far... Guess that's what I get for not having to work and being able to sit and stare at the screen all day for two days now...

this is a four letter word beginning with "s" that can be 4 5 or 8 letters long depending on the ending..
the definition is:
To direct that a letter, word, or other matter marked for omission or correction is to be retained.
there is one very close to it also(one letter moves to get the new one) that is a 4 5 and 7

i just try to find words i can add and s and ing to :) another good one has to do with a muscle characteristic.. starts with an "s" and is capable of being 7 and 8 letters long.

bazo0ka -- thanks for the tip . . . still looking -- looking at S and brain is saying 'edit' ;-) have done lots of 's' and 'ing' too but haven't gotten 8s that way. i'll keep chewing on this brain jerky.
most of my vocab these day is suitable for the 7 and under age -- 'cup' 'doggie' etc.
makes this game good for my brain but I sense significant atrophy! ;-D
