we have a friend in the hospital in serious condition - he fell through an attic access door onto concrete while he was getting decorations out of storage - hit his head; fractured some vertebrae in his back, and broke a bunch of ribs

Thanks, ruru. All that history I can't share with anyone else...she'll be missed. I'm grateful I have my own spirituality to comfort me but her mother does not and her entire life will change now as she cannot live in the house alone. Her son will have to place her in assisted living.

Life is better than it has been for a long time for us, thanks. It is seasonably wet and warm here, has been strangely windy/stormy, but otherwise a good sign. The drought is officially over as our snowpack begins to build again.

I saw the first one, not the others. Interesting premise. I watched it because it was something my 8th graders were interested in. Same with this series. Even though I am no longer with 8th grade students on a regular basis, I still want to stay in touch with what is motivating and interesting to them.
