Having a mud/ snow room where you would broom all the snow off your outside clothes and hang them up in there instead of bringing them inside--otherwise they would be perpetually damp with melting snow/frost. leaving all taps in the house running just the tiniest bit once it went below minus 40 to keep the pipes from freezing up ;)

I have had a busy day, but a good one. NO school-related work today (and probably not much tomorrow). It feels good to have the extra day off so I can focus on Tom and the family and the house and the yard. I went out to the fish pond to see if any survived (at least one!) and accidentally caught a little waq'waq' (frog) that was hiding in the floating leaves I was clearing out! LOL He was unharmed, just startled. As was I....

Not long at all. So many bulbs are already blooming and I don't have enough sluggo to get rid of the awful mollusks. It has been such a mild winter we'll be looking at herds of them grazing on the goodies soon. Already they have damaged the hyacinths that are about a month and a half early.
