Is ZATAR an in-word - not in the grid, and I'm not 'in', I guess...
11:55 am
hitthosekeys

I've done 3 puzzles in a row, but haven't made it into the rankings...
12:11 pm

this grid is making me hungry...
2:38 pm
Kukana

Well I have eight 7s, including the 72-pointer, but I can't see the 8 anywhere! Is it one of those compound words again?? Or something obvious?
2:43 pm
Minski

the 8 is made up of 2 acceptable (by the game) 4 letter words (not naughty ones).
2:44 pm
Minski

Can anyone supply us with some hints for some of the 7s? I only have 2.
2:46 pm
Minski

make that 3...............
2:47 pm
Minski

make that 4............I'm on a roll!
2:49 pm
Kukana

Most of my 7s are related to 6s or 5s, with a suffix; two are things to eat; one is a prefix added to a 4.
2:57 pm
Trena

Woohoo.. I found my first 9 ltr word. I feel special.. LOL
2:58 pm
Trena

Nevahmind! I can't count. No wonder I suck at this game. LOL! It's just an 8 letter word.. BTDT.

So, now I feel stoopid. LOL
3:13 pm
Atalante

isn't it amazing how you suddenly see a word you've been searching for for hours :S
3:59 pm
sleeky

I feel dumb for not seeing the 72 7 right away - my little boy was eating nothing but those yesterday. :-)
4:19 pm
Atalante

beer? salt? food? *hopelessly confused over this 7*
4:31 pm
Mal

hi auntie christine it is hannah i am staying at nannys have you found that 72 pointer
4:55 pm
Atalante

duh .... got it :S
4:56 pm

the 7 comes in hard and soft varieties. think of them all together: beer, food, salt, twisted, and it should make sense
5:04 pm

and for all the UK people .... its an American thing :P

6:29 pm

There are at least five words with z and one that starts with it.

dimwit

Ooh I so want to put in 'apple' ! Anyone found a word with 'pp' in it yet ?
6:45 pm
laura

I so want to spell mullet
6:50 pm
bulldog

I think I have figured out the rankings. The people who run this game only count the grids that they themselves do very well on. That way they can find themselves high up in the rankings. That way poor performances don't effect them and your success have no bearing.
7:18 pm
bulldog

anybody broke 2 thousand yet?
7:37 pm
boatierra

Hello all - I sent off a request to Babble about adding some more words to their acceptable list. Babble itself does not control the acceptable word list. Babble uses Enable dictionary. So what Enable has, goes. But at least we tried. I've read through the clues and figured out the yummy 7. I used to eat those at swim meets when I was younger. They are the perfect inbetween events food.

Hey, has anyone here read the book "Word Freak" by Stefan Fatsis? If not, I highly recommend it. Its about competative Scrabble players. Very interesting world that I had no idea existed. Reading it made me realize how few words I really know.
7:46 pm
boatierra

I keep wanting to spell muppet.
7:48 pm
4t8

haven't heard of the book, but i've seen scrabble club players get pretty competitive. never even heard of them until i lived in the city.
8:33 pm
dimwit

I'd already been told they used the Enable dictionary, which I have never heard of before. Perhaps we should put in a plea for a link to a better dictionary ? Such as Oxford ?
8:40 pm
dimwit

Any clues for the 'z' words? I got the food and the one that begins with z straight off, but despite all sorts of guesses I have'nt got any more. Not going to make 1000 tonight, (yawn)
