My hermit brother lives with her and my cousin will check on her too. The skin is pink/purple, not open, not tender, not painful. The sore is on the side of her leg where there is pressure on the leg rest of her recliner. So I showed her how to place a rolled up blanket under her calves.

Vet has suggested Piroxicam. Anti-inflammatory which has tumor shrinking ability (in some cases). Going to research that and see if it's an affordable option. If so, we'll give it a try and go for a follow up X-ray in a few months.

Appreciate the love and prayers. He is an ornery old boy (11 years old) who, I predict, will not go quietly into the night. Vet says he will start coughing, panting or have other respiratory problems when the tumor progresses (which it eventually will).

Norman shall receive extra canned food and lots of brushing and love. Vet says the tumor drains a lot of calories from him. He also had some calcifications in his kidneys and bladder. He was also somewhat dehydrated. So, canned food will help all of those issues. He does seem hungrier lately, and of course mommy is feeding him.
