Well, he's down for another 5 weeks at least - not supposed to bend over even if he drops something. I have to stay super alert, and I know once he really feels better, it's going to be tough to keep him from doing things. I just want him to be healed up, but I think he understands the importance of following doc's orders.

We're going up Sunday, it's the drive home I'm worrying about. Getting up at 4 last Monday did me in, and this is a shorter surgery and outpatient. So, as soon as they take him to the OR, I have to go load our stuff into the car and check out, then wait for him to get released. There's a nice hotel across the street, which makes it convenient.

The hotel is listed on all of the online services, but shows no rooms available - we called in a panic about 4 weeks ago - I guess they show sold out unless you call and say you're a patient. It is very nice, and the cost is more than reasonable. We got our reservation for Sunday when we checked in last Sunday. No problem.

It *was* nice being able to park and just walk across the street to see him without driving and messing with finding more parking. Parked Sunday night and didn't move the car until I picked him up Tues afternoon.

Cos, this is where the path has led both of you, no point in looking backward. You have to continue to move forward one step at a time. There is no other choice. I have no idea what the back story is, but you need to keep moving forward. This is not the time to dwell on good or bad, mistakes or heroics. It's time to be determined to move forward with love and support, both for him AND yourself.

Hi Kate. Very distracted here and now holding poor cosdem in my heart. I am sure he needs some real hugs now and hope he gets lots. It is never easy to see someone you love preparing to change worlds no matter how prepared you think you are. I am not sure Cos was really prepared at all. Poor man
