as some of you know, my husbamd of 60 years, walter, passed away in feb.. just 10 days short of his 92 nd birthday. He had said several times that he wanted no funeral but he would like us to throw a cook-out bash ans set his hat on his chair and have a party in his hoor. Today , we did just that. had his cleveland indians hat with all his pins on it .. several picture boards of snaps of our life an his navy service ( he was a landing craft pilot at te invasion of normandy) it was a wonderful party an over 70mpeople came and honored him and we had a great day.

Kate: training for nail stylist. One full day a week, and daily homework for about 4 or 5 hours, lol. In between that and the normal day-to-day stuff, I don't have (as we say in dutch) time to scratch my butt!

it is intensive and fascinating and wonderful, rose. Am learning so much, and getting better every day. First time on a real model yesterday and it went so well :D *happy dance*
Rob is doing okay. Might need knee replacements, which is a big thing, he is still deciding. Work is taxing for his body. But mentally/emotionally he is a little better again.

haha hurshy - yes some groups I dread, but this one isn't bad. it's 4th grade (my middle daughter's class)

we are a small school district, so maybe 60 kids for that grade? my brother in law is one of the teachers too

I wasn't a happy camper in 5th grade and was quite surly. I had a really good homeroom teacher, though. She was very understanding.

one of my tough nuts is adopted, and his early years before that were TERRIBLE, so i get why. another's dad is ... not great to say the least. and my troublesome girl, well, her mom seems very nice and normal, but now and then weird comments come out like "my mom won't let me sing at home" that make me wonder...

hurshy, when my grandson was in 1st grade, he was bullied by a boy in his class that his teacher was heard saying he was like a young Charlie Manson; this kid had charisma and got others to pick on other kids too

i had the funniest conversation with my sister one time when her kids were like 2 and 4

she calls me up and says, "why do kids disobey? you were disobedient. why did you do it??" (cause she was pretty darn compliant to adults, though she did have a fiery temper)
