lots of columbus monuments have been vandalized over the years, every year, plenty of first nations groups deface columbus in the southwest. columbus is a problematic figure, he was a great explorer, he was also a slave trader whose men committed atrocities. erasing romantic myth and owning the truth behind history is perhaps not a terrible thing.

Visited a couple of interesting museums and went on three tours of the area highlighting locations where movies were made (lots of lots of movies made out there) and a geologic tour that was pretty interesting.

I am trying to stick with my belief that "it is what it is" and "it's all good". Everybody deserves a chance to prove themselves and I will give that to my new supervising teacher.
