sorry i couldn't help you yesterday ... wasn't online at the right time

i don't think i'd play without stats now ... i hate that not knowing what i'm aiming for feeling.

I hope you don't feel pushed to do the stats. ;-)
I am really glad when you have time to do them, but no apologies needed when you don't! I did play yesterday, and liked it, but with the stats it would have been more relaxed. Thanks again.
12:46 am
elphaba

Any hints as to what these sevens start with?
12:46 am
goforit

Well even if i'm not playing the full game online, i can use the stats just to see if i can get all the words on paper for one or two start letters :)
1:01 am
sprite

Good tip, goforit! Might give me some grip on this addiction.

7's so far:
D44, S44, V40.
1:07 am

The 4rd 7 is also a D44
1:17 am
elphaba

Eh, I can't find any of them. I am terrible with the words beyond 6s.
1:19 am
sprite

I had the same when I started with this game, actually. The longer words take another way of looking, usually you don't see them at a glance. Good luck hunting - I'll post some definitions later on.
2:10 am
sprite

Aarrgghh! I want to make platitude!
4:08 am

This was a nice one! Many words I liked finding (6/30 E, I, O for instance, or one of the R5/10's).

Oh thanks for the stats - they make the game so much more fun for me.

Got kicked out when posting the hints for the 7's... must do them again! NOT nice!
D7/44: an enthusiast
D7/44: applies oneself entirely
S7/44: shipped cargo
V7/40: a solar god, worshipped by a cult. But you can also take a classical word for 'chaste, pure' and insert an R.
6:05 am

Krys10

Sprite, when you said this:
Many words I liked finding (6/30 E, I, O for instance
Did you mean to suggest that these three words are a set together?
9:39 am
jlm_mi

I don't think that's what sprite meant. The i and the O are similar (same but the starting letter) but not related to the E. They're just all cool words to find. :)
9:40 am
jlm_mi

Well, I should say that I have an E/6/30 that is not related. Maybe there's another that is???
9:42 am
Krys10

That's what I thought - just wanted to know if I should keep looking for an E-6 for a triplet :)
9:54 am
jlm_mi

Want to compare 6s? I'm still missing 8. I have:

30 D
30 D
30 D
30 E
30 i
27 N
30 O
27 S
21 S
27 S

10:06 am
Krys10

I have a 4th D30, an O21, and three P's all starting with the same root (36, 33, 33). Your list is helpful to me too thanks!
10:07 am
Krys10

(that's 21 out of 24 sixes...)
10:12 am
Krys10

Are your T6's in order in your list? I'm having trouble finding the T21 after my T27..
10:15 am
Krys10

oh never mind - was being blind
10:16 am
jlm_mi

Yep, they're in order. The word is a bit curvy in the grid, but it's a very common word. :) And it doesn't start with the same T as your 27. :)
10:20 am
jlm_mi

I found an E/6/18. It goes before the E30 that I have.
10:52 am
jlm_mi

Also a 6/27/P that is the first P in my list.
10:56 am
Krys10

Found yer E18.
I have to take a break for a bit, but before I headed out I wanted to see if I could wrap up a few letters where I was only missing one:
ADx1, ARx2, AWx1
EAx1, ESx1, EVx3
ONx1, ORx4, OVx1
PAx7, PLx1 / 4x4, 5x1, 6x3
WAx5 / 4x3, 5x1, 6x1

I'm afraid I don't have much to offer in the way of return at this point, since the Z's and i's are the only letters I have complete so far.
10:56 am
Krys10

Ok, so the P I'm missing is a PA7.
10:59 am
fnurt

You are missing an EU.
11:00 am
stevedallas

there is an eu4
11:04 am
stevedallas

having a time finding the fourth d30; does it start with the same 2 letters as the other three?
11:05 am
Krys10

Nope it doesn't. I hope tomorrow people go to the polls in D6!
11:06 am
jlm_mi

You are missing a WA4. Also, I think you made a typo. You are not missing a PA7. There are no P7s. But you are missing a PA6.

Steve - Only 3 of the 4 6/D/30 words that I have start with the same two letters. The other is the plural of a D5. But, that D5 is usually used as the past tense of a verb. It can be a noun, and it is for the 6.
11:08 am
Krys10

Whoops, sorry! it was a PA6 I was missing.
11:13 am
fnurt

So those 3 D30 all start with the same 2 letters. Should I infer from that clue that they do not start with the same 3 letters? :)
11:14 am
jlm_mi

No, it would not be safe to infer that. ;)
11:24 am
stevedallas

got it thks Jlm
11:32 am
jlm_mi

How about T words? I have TAx7, TOx4, TRx7, TUx4.
11:35 am
Krys10

I'm missing a lot of your T words, but I have a TW.
11:35 am
stevedallas

i have and additiona TR and a TW
11:36 am
stevedallas

disregard we have the same number of TRs
11:41 am
jlm_mi

Might as well do the others as well. I'm still looking for A, D, O, T and V words. I have all of the others if anyone needs help. Since the A,O and T words were already listed I'll do D and V here:

DAx3, DEx7, DOx8, DRx5, DUx3
VEx10 (6x4, 1x5, 2x6, 1x7), VOx3 (4,4,5)
11:42 am
stevedallas

i have an additional DE DO and DU
11:42 am
Krys10

You're missing a DE.

12:32 pm
Krys10

Collectively we're still missing a six, aren't we?
12:35 pm
stevedallas

its gotta be an A
12:36 pm
jlm_mi

Yes, we are.

Steve, do you have all the words for all the other letters?
12:36 pm
jlm_mi

Hee hee - It is an A. It's a chemical word, a type of sugar, and worth 21 points.
12:39 pm
Krys10

jlm, what's your background? you always get the chemical words...
12:39 pm
parsec

i have 9xDe and 10xDo
12:43 pm
jlm_mi

Thanks, parsec. I think that leaves just one D word unaccounted for.

Krys10 - I'm an engineer, though I had a couple of chemistry classes. This one I got totally by noodling, though. Should have thought of it. There are frequently chemical words with this ending in these puzzles.
12:44 pm
stevedallas

im missing an L
12:44 pm

and another DA for 33
12:45 pm
Krys10

Me too. I have LA4x4, LA5.
12:46 pm
jlm_mi

parsec - I'm confused. Wouldn't that have to be a 6 then? I've got 24 6s and no DA for 33.
12:46 pm
boatierra

Could I have another clue for the V7/40, the solar g-d?
12:46 pm
jlm_mi

There's a second LA5. It's not a normal word but I think I've seen it in a puzzle before.
12:46 pm
Krys10

Parsec means 33 D-words.
12:47 pm
stevedallas

Ive got 5DA, 9DE,10DO,5DR,4DU
12:47 pm
Krys10

The V7 is very similar to an E6-18 and begins with a V4-7.
12:48 pm
parsec

sorry, i meant there are 5 total DA, adding to the rest of the Ds listed for 33.
12:49 pm
jlm_mi

Phew! That I think I can manage, LOL. :-D
12:50 pm
stevedallas

not a normal word? now thats a turn of a phrase! Does that mean it has numbers or special characters in it or is all consonants or all vowels! LOL
12:52 pm
jlm_mi

Sorry, just meant it's uncommon. Not heard in normal everyday conversation. :)

It's the British spelling of a word that means "Turning the plane of polarized light to the left".
12:52 pm
jlm_mi

I guess if you're a physicist who studies light it might be a normal, everyday word!
12:57 pm
Krys10

Could I have help with my last S? I have SEx1, SOx3, STx7.
12:58 pm
jlm_mi

There are 4xSO4.
12:58 pm
Krys10

Got it - I was missing an SO.
1:10 pm
jlm_mi
