I'm really rural and don't come into contact with others unless I have to pick up something "in town", so not causing as much angst in me as it could be/is in others? I think if we could just keep the majority of folks to stay at a distance in public and only go out when absolutely necessary (I understand work requirements, medical, etc.) that this will die out sooner than later... unfortunately, that is not the case and we're gonna come in contact with those who have not heeded the isolation suggestions, even if by 2nd or 3rd party.

No, ru. Covid-19 is a virus that is not a disease in itself. It causes a breakdown in the immune system, in this case, usually the respiratory system though it will bring out any cardiac problems as well. She needs medication and possible ventilator - not available for home use now, I'm sure.

The good part, M3, is that you are now carrying an immunity to that virus unless you don't give yourself enough time for a full recovery - especially with the asthma. Take special care. You know what to do. I worked as an RN in AIDS care through the worst of the virus (HIV) from 1983 to 93. This works similarly. The survivors are many and they are pretty strong. But there is still no vaccine. We're hoping for one for the Covid.

Here in Cleveland, social distancing seems to be happening consistently. In parks, people maintain distance and wave hellos. Stores have tape marks to spread people out at checkout. Almost everything is closed.

I took a ten mile bikeride into the flats. I stayed hydrated, but when I was ready to return home I thought, gawd, I have to pee! Nothing was open at 8 pm, the restaurants doing carryout having closed. It was about 4 hours since I had left home. The ride home is all uphill, 450 ft ascent including 200 that happen in a short, hard mile. It took me about an hour. Long story short, no leakies, and I know how far I can bike on a full bladder!

Haven't heard re: hours here in Ohio. I took a walk thru the neighborhood around 10 pm.

Another observation. I live on a 5 lane main road. Traffic noise is usually a problem (as are college kids on weekends, they live in most of the duplexes now). I'm noting the quiet and also the better smelling air. Exhaust becomes a smell we don't notice. I read how LA has clear skies1 I hope ne outcome of all this is a push to a less carbon dependent economy and energy supply.

In the Uk we are finding that people with second homes in tourist areas are heading down to Devon and Cornwall and up to the Scottish Highlands and islands to self isolate because the surroundings are so much more picturesque than their home towns. They are parking along roads, in laybys and anywhere there is space. they'd rather walk their dog by the sea than in a municipal park. They are being sent home because these areas are lacking in facilities to cope with an influx of gravely ill people.
