I'm finally really impressed by our governor, Pritzger & our mayor, Lori Lightfoot. They are both listening to the science/medical people, not these jerks who are putting money ahead of lives. We are pretty much shut down til the end of this month, and also into June. They are not making any promises and are very open about that. No one knows what's going to happen, so they're playing it by ear. Lotsa updates. Lotsa deaths here. They are pulling out some hard stops for the people who are having house parties, or businesses trying to make a little unsafe profit. Better safe than dead in my book. I'm in Chicago, Illinios.

we are finally allowed 5 visitors, family and/or close friends into our homes. also gatherings of 10 only for church services.(fortunately my church has a very small congregation), 10 for a wedding, 20 for an indoor funeral, 30 for an outdoor one. social distancing still to be observed.

Right gr, here they're focusing on being very specific on all the religious stuff. This is taking precedence over salons, bars & restaurants. Meanwhile, I'll probably have my knees done before I go back to work. Part of what we do is fund raisers, so we all expect to be swamped. Have fun, raise much needed money.

My BIL is an ER doc and they've had patients with the virus test negative more than a few times. He said that the tests aren't accurate, which isn't uncommon with a new virus

my advice helen, and i have had one knee done. is to have one at a time. the pain is excruciating first day post-op. and i am pretty gutsy when it comes to pain. also it will be very difficult to weight-bear on both legs which is what is expected of you, day one post-op.

I live in Cedar Rapids so there are thousands here and people are pretty competent. I still go see my friend, a bartender, after they close and have dinner with him, but won't go during happy hour or even later on

Yep, that sounds like the best advice, gr. I've had my right hip done, will be 15 years in December. Minimally invasive. Rehab was so simple. Knees, I have come to learn, are much more complicated.

gr - my doc has done one video chat with me, otherwise we just e-mail. She knows me very well, knows that I provide very accurate descriptions, and gives me meds without needing to see me. Like, one of the cats just bit me - 2 punctures, one healing well, the other angry red circle around it. No problem getting the antibiotics. The only time I have to go out is to pick up a monthly prescription of one med that is a controlled substance, they won't deliver that.

good practice helen. i am fortunate in that hubby is happy to go out for necessities. i have said we could have everything delivered but he says he is very carefully while out. he has a small bottle of sanitiser hanging from the strap of his bag, which he uses frequently when out.
