I got used to masks when I spent some time in Hong Kong during the SARS epidemic. Hong Kong is hot and humid most of the year, so masks got damp pretty quick. Like others, I always had a spare or two in my purse or pocket to swap out for my soggy one.

It is really not too much of an imposition to ask people to keep distance and wash hands frequently (and some people need reminding all the time). No, you're right, it isn't everywhere. Our neighbors have been terrific--we had one neighbor diagnosed with COVID 19 several weeks back, and the neighborhood blockwatch sprung into action to help take care of his wife, who is in her eighties with Alzheimers.

Molly, that's true. We bring in the perishables and leave them untouched in the fridge for a couple days. The non-perishables get stored untouched in the basement pantry. And, of course, we handwash after handling. The current medical advice is that surface contact is probably not a meaningful source of transmission. But, given my husband's immunocompromised condition, we take no chances. Wwe leave our mail in the basement untouched for a few days, too. Of course, these days it's nothing but junk mail and bills, anyway, so no worries!

It's really no problem. Since we only get groceries every ten days or so, it takes maybe ten minutes to get things put away in a safe manner. What has been more of a problem is dealing with my husband's chemo during this time. For awhile, it was cancelled entirely.

hi. san francisco here, 36 minutes to curfew. lucky this is a huge residence, almost 3/4 of a block square, 14 stories. So we have an inside/outdoor patio in the middle.
