That movie is like Scotch. People either love it or they hate it. And yes, it is very American. I can see why British people would not like it. Same reason I'm not a big fan of British TV.

He didn't hate it. He was just...underwhelmed. I not only have memories of watching with my parents, but I think, given my parents were born in the early 30s, it particularly resonated with them (especially my dad - my mum's parents were German immigrants in NY whereas my dad group up in Pennsylvania in various smallish towns around Philly) and it rubbed off on me

and did anyone explain the points to you? that is helpful to look for the right letters to make a word. like 4 letter words are the points on the tiles added together. 5 letter words is the point total x2, 6 letter words is point total x3, etc.
