(Pronounced Dunnygaul). The actual Irish name is Dún na nGall - Fort of the French. Irishplace names & how they came about is a hobby of mine.

I was touring in Germany years ago with a choir, and our hosts were telling us about their vacation in Hungary, but we were having trouble understanding. I don't remember how Hungary is said in German, but it was similar enough to the French that I suggested it.
