I think my grandmother was out working in her flowers and yard still at 94. She had to have surgery for colon cancer and then moved to a nursing home and died at 96. I def. think not being able to do her flowers and quilting and stuff killed her.

That's sad, allyall, because it reminds me of my old friend, online side-kick and fellow Babbler Renfield aka Renny, who died in a house fire some years ago. We'd been talking on line at the time, me here in UK and her there in US, then she went to check on her husband. Next thing I heard from her brother was that she, her husband and their dogs had all perished. Don't think I'll ever get over that.

Her hubby, a rabbi, was disabled and in a wheelchair, still trying to recover about 3 or 4 years after having his legs, mostly his knees, crushed between to SUVs. He made models in the kitchen, which involved using an electric glue gun and lots of other plug-in and inflammable stuff. There were apparently too many plug extensions plugged into too many sockets and one flamed up, the flammable stuff went up and it was all far too fast for her to move him out in his wheelchair or pull him out of it before the smoke choked them. I'm losing my sense of time about how long has passed these days, but it was at least 5- years ago.
