I grew up in Houma, La (between New Orleans and Lafayette). Although Cajuns routinely eat things that most other people wouldn't, I don't know of anyone who eats NU6. In Washington state they are listed as an "invasive species" and referred to as such. Makes it sound like the critters decided to invade. The truth is, fur breeders brought them to Washington in the 1930s to make money, with no thought to the environment. If you catch one live here, you are supposed to call fish and game for disposal, and not release it back.

TO, I recently discovered the WildEarth channel. They broadcast live 24/7 from Africa and nature and animal experts give the commentary. They drive around a preserve until they spot something, then stop and film and educate. Viewers can text questions to them. It's a fascinating watch.
