Okay, can someone tell me what's going on? Yesterday's puzzle I had over 164 words which I posted in the chat log, but when I looked today it says I had 21 words for a total of 161 points. Has this happened to anyone else?

Mary, What happened to you has happened to me a couple of times, too. I try to keep the puzzle open and minimized once I start so that Babble doesn't count my first attempt as my only one...

I am perfectly willing to do stats, but that's no use to you all on the days I am not playing ;-)
So let me give you the links:

Then I hold something like a paper over the screen and copy the outcome, or (preferably) let someone copy them for me. I paste them into a pre-made document with same background color and font color and I replace all spaces with ; (semicolon).
I save the result as a .txt file and close it.

Then I run the txt-file through:

That nice little script, that a friend of mine made for me, does the counting for us.

oh I see - I think I can work those stats :) Well, I've just tried and it seems to kinda work - I got the right word count and the breakdown by length. Breakdown by letter doesn't seem to be working for me .. hmm .. what am I doing wrong??

First time playing. What is a decent score for a game?

It all depends on what you consider a decent score, really. Sometimes there are only 23 words in a puzzle, sometimes over 400. I would think getting a score anywhere between one word and all of them would be could. What ever you can figure out. Its all good.

There's a list of the the word total and the letters the words start with in the chat log - just scroll down and you'll find them, and also some hints for some of the words. Enjoy the puzzle - but beware...it's addictive! :)

Check out baggo's post at 11:24am. Usually everyday someone will post the
'stats' consisting of how many words per letter, how many of each word length, and how many words total.
