Sorry, I missed Gail's post this morning. This is not a second W8/55.
Thnks Roberts1, I wasn't sure if it was or not so didn't post it.
i need a hint or two for the w's
The police would have these if they wanted to arrest you or search your house.
"w" hint . . . rise and shine!
Is it a sign of addiction that I was mulling over the grid in my head while I was doing my grocery shopping this morning?
thanks alot for the W hint gail :))
Gail - you were up early today!! The grid was still off-line when I went to bed at 2:30 edt .... Those ads must really make it more cantankerous to reseet each day!!
Yep, I was up at the crack of dawn, as usual. Tropical storm Cindi is making today a washout here.
I think the ads are a pain in the butt they slow me down alot !!
By the time the page reloads, I've forgotten what word I want to type in!
Well, maybe not that bad...
yeah, that bad...
And if you try to type it in too fast, you don't get the first letter or two in there.
May I please have clues for the 9 letter word and the 8's.
For the A words, you have to think of planes, balloons and dirigibles.
Oh, I love the word dirigible!
Thanks, I will keep looking.
Four of the big A words are based on an A4/4 that means atmosphere.
Still can't find any of the long A words :(
Gail, I figured out which A/4 to use but have trouble with the second parts.
The A8/40 - A9/54 are craft that get their bouyancy from the surrounding air, like balloons or blimps. The other A7 - A8 words are very similar.
Yea!, found the a/8 and 9, Thanks.
How many A7/28's are there? I'm confused, as usual!
Hurricane Dennis report: Windy in Orlando - skies grey - tornado watch. Ah, the side affects of a Gulf storm!!
FYI I've got 2 A7/28's but I think there's more
2x A7, 2x A8, 1 A9
thanks, -- it helps to know I've got them!!
But by my counts on postings, there are still 6 7-letter words unaccounted for?????
So now Dennis is supposed to move up to the Northeast, we're due to get him by the middle of the week.
one thing you can rely on -- the computers cannot exactly figure out where a hurricane will go !!
One of the TV anchor-desk people was so stunned to see how much damage is still left in in FL from the storms last year --- took her a while to believe it.
I have 17 7's so far - Ax3, Ex4, L, O, Px3, R, 3xS, w
R7/56 (don't think this is already posted)
Since I have all of the E, G, H, K, L, N, O, P, U and W words, that means the last seven letter word has to be an A, R, S, or T word. That narrows it down a bit!
Ah, the mystery is solved. Thanks.
Thanks -- with that R/56 , it seems to add up to the 18 7/s.
I have the 14 - 7 letter words
Watching the Busch Race and Babbling what a nice Saturday!
I have an R7/56 already, so there is still one missing unless there are two of them.
i just got an L7/28--is that already listed?
Aha! I just found an S7/28 - the natural height on a human or animal in an upright postion.
Yep, that S7 gives me 18 7 letter words.
Gail you are missing an S word for your 7 letter Good Luck With all your help I found the other 4
So - the count on 7's is: Ax3, Ex4, Lx1, Ox1, Px3, Rx1, Sx4, Wx1
Guess we were posting at the same time!!
thanks, ya'll --- now I just have to find them all!!
Well, at least we figured it all out!
Hey, Tedybeth, remember when you came up to Vermont to miss hurricaine Bob? Heh.
well I've noodled till my fingers hurt and cannot find the other A8/9. got the ones Gail referenced.
Darleen, if you take on of the t's out of the A8/9, you will get the A7/8. There is only one 9
Sure do -- go figure!!! [Brigadoon from the porch]. Last year we endured Frances - then flew up to Buffalo [emergency trip] - and landed - yep - right in the middle of Frances. Make it stop !!!
That should have read "one of the t's"
Thanks Gail. I think my brain is fried, again.
too many words, too little time
roberts1 - just thinking how you must be enjoying all these words that start with a vowel. Know they're not your favorite :)
I have the s/7/28. May I please have clues for the other s/7 words?
I have the 2 a/8/40. I need help with the other 8 lettere words, please.
Peri: I need the clue for the s7/28.plese.
s7/36 - a shallow basin in a desert region, contains 'stuff' deposited by evaporation.
s7?36 - pl. of 6/24 - a ruler, ancient Persia; subordinate bureaucrat.
s7/38 - place to keep stock of supplies for future use. [like hurricanes!!]
Anyone else still playing?
peri: for the w8 word - check post by Gail at 10:29 a.m.
tedybeth, look at Gail's message at 3:06 pm. If that does not help, type in her definition on Google and you will get. That is how I found it.
Oops, I already had the W/8, lol
r8/75 adds one letter to the end of r7/56. based on a 4-letter 'w' word having to do with being brought into a state of awareness.
There are 4 eight letter words, I have 3. 2 A words and a W word. What am I missing?
And Gail is my sister & 'mento' at Babble - her clues are so good!!! She lives way in the northeast & I live way down in the south east [FL] - so we don't get to babble together except like this!!! :-)
you're missing the R8/75 - which I just left a clue for you --- your eyes must be as goofy as mine by now!!
tedybeth, thanks, got the last 8
thanks to you, peri -- got that T word- had missed the clue completely -- and it's so simple --- NOW !!!
I was hoping to get up to 200 words but don't think that will happen. Will keep playing for a little while longer.
I know what you mean. Then they seem to just pop out at you. I was stuck at 170 --- now have 230 --- and am very tired!
Tedybeth, are you Babbling again?
Gail - what are you still doing awake!! LOL -- I'm definitely babbling - but not necessarily with the grid anymore!
I just thought I would take a last look. Mary Ellen and Jeff picked out an engagement ring today!
Yeah!! Did they buy it??!!
No, he has to save up for it first. I am going off to bed now with my book. Queenie is asleep already.
