Patricia - Pro Babblers have access to the Stats page, which lists how many words there are, plus the word count per title. Many of us also use finding aids like www.a2zwordfinder.com, and of course hints on the chat log. Also, after you've been playing for a while, some "uncommon" words tend to appear frequently.
For today, there are 96 total words -- a list of the words by 1st and 2nd letter was posted in the log by Brandyjack a couple hours ago... Hope this helps :)
