Mab and spatialbean,

We ordered everything that was featured on the menu from Paula's new(/old -- it's a revision of a 20-year-old cookbook of hers that is one of my favorites).

We had:

La Tupina's Sardine and potato cake (Paula told us the story of how she got this recipe.)

Duck liver flan with caramel vinegar sauce (this was subtle and divine)

Salade aux gésiers de canard: confit of duck gizzards with a salad of mixed chicories

Moules paysannes: steamed mussels with ham, shallots and garlic

Poulet a la Basquaise: sauté of chicken with peppers, ham and tomatoes with "armottes"

and

Compôte de lapin aux pruneaux: Lucien Vanel's compôte of rabbit with prunes

Everything was excellent... a delightful evening!

we have that black blob of a cocker spaniel - she's a working cocker though so she looks more like a springer, and we've got a little golden show-strain cocker - our poor boy, we probably won't live too long as he was brain-damaged at birth, but we rescued him from the dealer who was going to have him put down and he's happy enough poddling around and being pretty :)

Yeah, I have a black lab that is the most annoying creature on earth! Pure bred (English and American champion lines), cost us an arm and a leg, certified from a vet cleared of major medical problems. We have him sent over to us when we are living in Spain, boom! He gets sick, vet gives him a shot and hits a nerve, no feeling in his leg for the next 8 months and we can't take him to training or anything. So now he is impossible on a leash, eats his own poop, and is doggy agressive. But at least he's our son's best friend! :)

ferrari- Me too! I do it so often that the icon has moved itself into my start up menu. I think you may need to look for "disc cleanup" in your control panel (in the start menu). Just click on it, it'll calculate and then ask you if you want to go ahead. Say yes :) Hope that helps.
